A Virgin Celebration: Sailing Club Voyage is happening on Aug 27th — and Richard himself is joining.

And it’s shaping up to be one of our most iconic sailings yet.

A Virgin Celebration Voyage

When Virgin Records celebrated the early success of the Sex Pistol’s debut album Never Mind the Bollocks, it was on a river boat gently cruising down the Thames in the mid-1970s. On that day, celebrating the brand itself, and on a brand new luxury cruise ship bearing its namesake was all but a dream in the mind of a then 20-something year old Richard Branson.

With his daring vision and marketing genius, he removed the idea that the sky, an invisible barrier, could limit the possibilities of what could be achieved. From its humble beginnings to rocketing into the galaxy, Virgin has defied categorization, expectations, and broken all the rules — with it now being one of the most recognizable brands of all time. But its success didn’t happen overnight.

So we’re pulling back the signature red curtain and giving Sailors a rare opportunity to explore the history behind the brand on A Virgin Celebration: Sailing Club Voyage.

Being a voyage of thrilling firsts, our CEO, Tom McAlpin, will host our signature Sailway Party with Richard Branson, and sea day speaker sessions that feature past and current leaders across the Virgin Group (aka the brains behind-the brand). They’ll share stories about the brand’s history, innovation, and how disrupting the world’s biggests industries has resulted in Virgin becoming one of the most recognizable brands of all time.

Sailors will go on rare behind-the-seas tours, and even uncover secret stories of the ship only a few people know about. They can also book limited-edition Shore Things in Santorini, Rhodes, Bodrum, and Mykonos with members of the Virgin family joining in — plus one extra-special tour attended by Tom.

Now that we’ve launched Resilient Lady, we’re setting sail from Athens on August 27th to the most gorgeous coastal destinations between Greece and Turkey. And through August 23rd, we’re making it even easier for Sailors to join in on all the festivities with up to a $1000 off the voyage fare to help offset any travel costs to Athens.

And since this is a celebration of milestones, we want to recognize the people who’ve made the success of our fleet possible — our loyal Sailors. Since this voyage ships out during our annual Eat & Drink Festival, we’re adding a free $600 Bar Tab per cabin so that Sailors can really take advantage of our our premium drink activities during their sailing including Seven Seas Sippers, Afternoon Tea at Sip, and multi-course dinner and wine pairings.

With so many exciting onboard happenings, now’s the perfect time to secure your next adventure on a 7-night celebration. Join us and Richard Branson as we continue to make history with the now legendary Virgin global brand.
