When Virgin Records celebrated the early success of the Sex Pistol’s debut album Never Mind the Bollocks, it was on a river boat gently cruising down the Thames in the mid-1970s. On that day, celebrating the brand itself, and on a brand new luxury cruise ship bearing its namesake was all but a dream in the mind of a then 20-something year old Richard Branson.
With his daring vision and marketing genius, he removed the idea that the sky, an invisible barrier, could limit the possibilities of what could be achieved. Being a voyage of thrilling firsts, our CEO, Tom McAlpin, will host our signature Sailway Party with Richard Branson, and sea day speaker sessions that feature past and current leaders across the Virgin Group (aka the brains behind-the brand).
