Virgin Voyages Help & Support for Onboard Policies
Onboard Policies
What is the dress code?
We always want all of our Sailors to feel comfortable. We encourage you to wear more than a bathing suit if you go to a restaurant and kindly consider shoes, but your style is your style. Who are we to judge?
Dress Up. Dress Down. Just Dress.
At Virgin Voyages we’re all about Sailors feeling free to express who they are and we know personal style is a huge part of that. Prescribing formal attire requirements just isn’t our style.

What is the drinking age on board?
The drinking age in international waters is 18, in the United States it's 21, and in other ports, we'll go with whatever their country's laws specify.
How long can I leave my stuff unattended on sun chairs/loungers?
In fairness to all our Sailors on board, we think everyone deserves a spot in the sun. If you leave any items unattended on chairs or loungers for more than 40 minutes, we will remove it and safely store it in lost property located at Sailor Services on Deck 5 Mid.
What is a muster drill and do I really have to attend?
A muster drill is a mandatory safety briefing conducted to familiarize all of our Sailors and crew with the ship's emergency procedures. But this is Virgin Voyages we're talking about, so we promise to make it worth your while 😎
Can I use Sailor Loot at the Casino?
Sailor Loot can be used in the casino for gameplay, but cannot be cashed out.
Do you allow smoking in the casino?
While smoking is not permitted in the Casino, we do have a designated smoking room nearby on Deck 6.
Can I spread a loved one's ashes during my voyage?

Is there a topless/nude area on board?
We have a beautiful sun deck on Deck 17, called The Perch, where you can feel comfortable sunbathing topless at sea.
What items am I not allowed to bring back from a port of call?
You can refer to our prohibited items list, while also keeping in mind local government guidelines (for example, you must leave seashells at the beach in the Bahamas).
What are Virgin Voyages' Safety & Security policies?
The safety and security of our guests is our top priority. We operate in full compliance with — and in many cases exceed — U.S. and international safety regulations. You can find more information, and our Security Guide, here.
What travel documents do I need when going into each port?
When exploring our ports of call, make sure to bring The Band and your government-issued ID with you.
Are there any religious services on board?
We respect all our Sailors' diverse religious beliefs and encourage them to practice on their own or with other members of their group during their voyage. That being said, please note that we don’t have an onboard formal place of worship.
Would seashells or corals bought from a gift/souvenir shop with proof of purchase be permitted on board?
No seashells, corals or any marine souvenirs will be allowed on board, regardless of whether a shell was purchased in a store, found on a beach, or professionally cleaned and guaranteed as a sustainable product. This policy is in place to prevent the support of the sale of marine life souvenirs, which are harmful to the marine environment and pose a public health risk.
Please note that fake shells will be allowed. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us to protect the marine environment and promote responsible tourism.

Can I bring a drone to use at a port of call?
No. While we understand that you may legally be able to fly a drone at certain ports along your voyage, we do not allow drones aboard our Lady Ships. They will be confiscated pre-voyage and returned upon arrival at our home port.
We’re celebrating a special occasion while on board. Can I bring fresh flowers for my partner?
Congrats on your special occasion! We can’t wait to celebrate with you and we’re so happy you chose us to make your time special. At this time, our Sailors are not permitted to bring potted or fresh-cut flowers on board.
To enhance your voyage and add an extra touch of excitement, we recommend adding a package such as our "Splash of Romance." This way, we can make your journey even more memorable and sweet.

Can I bring Alcohol Onboard?
As an Adult-by-Design experience, we have an array of carefully selected beer, wine and expert cocktail options shipwide. If you must bring that rare bottle of red you got in the south of France, we get it. Sailors are also welcome to bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags (sorry, no liquor or beer please). Please note, any alcohol in your checked luggage will be confiscated. You are also welcome to bring specialty liquors from a port of call on board. Simply hand them to our security team as you board, and we will hold them until your final night.
